just got a 91 z28 with 5.7 liter
hey everybody! i just got my first camaro, actually my first v8, rear wheel drive, and coup. its a 1991 z28 with the 5.7 350. I also just started auto school so im looking to make this car a project car. the only mods so far is a new 700r4 with a stahl torque converter and corvette servo's, and a flowmaster cat back. its not a daily driver, going into storage for the winter in my buddies garage so i can still work on it. I was just looking for some sugestions on what to do first performance wise. im on a bit of a budget for this winter but i wanna make sure i go about this wisely, so that i get the best bang for my buck. i was thinking of starting with hooker headers, the tpis big mouth manifold and runners, throttlebotty air foil, and msd 6A ignition system, that sound like a good start or am i heading for the wrong things first? thanx for the help guys!
Not knowing how much money you have, or whats in the motor right now, but for the bang concentrate on the cam, heads, and exhaust, these would be the 3 most important for power. also look in to gettin a rear gear,3:73 or 4:11, and what is the actual stall on the converter? Let us know what you are really wanting to do, there are quite a few guys on here that will have good info for ya.
thanks for the reply. the engine is bone stock. I eventually wanna make this a show car. but I want to gain some power. I don't think i m ever gonna go 150 on the highway, so top speed isn't a huge deal, but I like getting good acceleration, and I wanna take it to the track every once in a while and beat some mustangs
