installed a new temp guage got some ?'s
so my stock guage was broken so i decided to install an aftermarket one. now knowing what temps im running at i know that under normal circumstances im running at about 140*f.
the only and i do mean only way the temp goes up is if i push it reeeeeaaaaaal hard then it tops out at 220*f. should i be worried cause every car i've owned and the truck my dad owned with a camaro 305 all ran at 210*f under normal circumstances.

No need to worry. 210-220 is normal. Helps the tail pipe emissions to be lower. My 84 ran cool with a high volumn water pump. This just means you can push it without worry of it over heating because it only gets to 210 
And it takes a hot day and city traffic for my car to get up to the 200 range
