Once again my speedo has $hit the bed. Last time it was the clip that retained the driving gear in the tail housing. Im NOT gonna pull that part off again. I was wondering how an aftermarket electric speedo hooks up? My current TH350 is (was!) mechanical, and Id love to add one of those 79 dollar mini electric speedos that summit has for sale. How does it work?

 

i think there is something like a magnet or some sort of device that it in the tranny and it picks up the speed everytime it goes past.

 

You would most likely have to fix the drive gear and install a hall effect unit were the speedo cable was.

 

Thats what I was afraid of. Ive been sittin on a summit order all day and keep removing and replacing the dig speedo..........I still dont know if I should order it or not!
