im 17 years old and im workign to buy a car and im very interested in third generation camaros i know all the specs and numbers but i would like to know how fast and if i would be satisfied as a young driverr with a pretty much stock 5 liter camaro i dont mind if its not top speed fast but if its torquey enough to get up there relatively quick, compare to other cars

 

Well if it is a TBI, then yes it can be torquey enough (depending on what you have driven). I drove my 90 Jetta for four years before we got the Camaro and it was a huge difference. If it is the TPI it will be even better. I don't know what it will be like in a carbed application, but imagine it would be about the same simply because it is a V8 after all.

hey im 18 and i just bought my first camaro too...its an 84 z28, 5.0 HO and its carbed...just wondering what kind of horsepower she might have and what i should do to it first?

 

im only sixteen and i have a 305 tbi... you should be plenty satisfied with the 305. I recommend getting a 3" exhaust and that should be enough power for you if your just using it to drive around town. Also they arent too bad speed wise, plenty of torque to light up the tires.
