How do i remove an 87 IROC-Z oil pan?

Smile How do i remove an 87 IROC-Z oil pan?

its a 350 TPI unit, has i think an 8 in. sump on it, but i cant for the life of me figure out how to get the pan out without moving the tranny back or pulling the engine up........if theres a way to do it, id really appreciate if you guys could help me out! =[

I had to do it myself recently and dont know any other way except to unbolt the motor and raise it up. Why do you need it off? gaskets or something else?

You are definately goning to have to remove the engine if it threw a rod! You might be able to do it in car but wayyy easier if you remove engine.

X2 ^. if you threw a rod the engines (probably) commin out anyway.

i suppose that's true, but i had an inkling of hope that it wasnt really a blown rod, it was just the bearing cap and bearing. but ive drained the pan since then, and there was about a gallon of radiator fluid in there. gm performance crate engine, here i come! anybody know where to get a cheap 350 block for the time being though?
