Default Hood question...

Alright, I got my engine in yesterday, but I am still hooking everything up. However, I did find that I am going to have hood clearance issues. My question is, how rare are the stock fiberglass hoods that came on the crossfire injection cars? I am planning on just adding a scoop, but im not sure if I want to cut up that hood...

Your manifold may only be around 1/4 taller than stock. If you use a low profile air cleaner then there should nopt be much problem maybe a slight rub. As for adding a scoop. Grind that one and bond a fiberglass scoop to it!

You understand that I was saying I have the stock fiberglass hood, right? lol

Between the performer intake, holley carb, and edlebrock pro flow intake, I am off about an inch or so. Lemme link you over to my thread on DF so you can see my post so I dont have to repost it:

I fully understand you have a fiberglass hood. They are not valuable and I would never tell anyone to bond a fiberglass scoop to a steel hood.

The intake and carb should fit under the hood with a stock air cleaner. Of course the pro flow stands way taller with no drop base. Your post did not say you had that
