Default Hood Question

I have a regular 3.8L 00' black camaro. I would love to give it a nicer hood. My question is, are there any diffrent types of hoods from other camaros I can put on it? Is it possible to put on a Ram air hood. How much modding is needed? I would love to put on a z28 hood.

I don't think there's any modding required. A good friend of mine had a 2001 V6, of which was backed into by a lifted truck. The exhaust pipes SCRAPED the hood of the Camaro, and during repairs, an SS hood was ordered and installed. It looks very nice. An SS hood (with the ram air inlet) looks very nice, but may be a little expensive to have painted.

I don't think it would be a good idea to have a SS hood on a stock V6 Camaro. That's just me.

Whynot? It's a bolt on application, given the paint matches and doesn't require work. I've seen many V6 models with SS style hoods. It looks very nice.

To mod it with the intent of making it run 0-60 in 3 seconds flat is dumb. To mod it to aesthetically please the driver, by means of adding an SS hood, or adding a 6 foot wing (yikes!) is more suitable.

Yeah they do look nice...on an SS. You might as well throw the SS spoiler on it along with the badges and drive around like your hot ****. It's just not right.

There's certainly no need to get hostile. I asked in regards to understand what your reasoning behind the statement was. Simple as. I think we can both agree that there are far worse things that can be done to a Camaro (i.e. A Camaro in the town I live was repainted to a neon green, lowered a god awful amount, had WHITE 20 spoke wheels, a fart can muffler, and the biggest wing on the back you'd ever seen).

But my point is, I modify to please me-- not anyone else.

its also retarded to think that putting an SS hood on a v6 is retarded. seriously, what makes the v8 maro drivers any better then the the sixers? I mean there all real hot poop after there parents buy it for them and there gas and all other mods they do to it. the sixers have just as much right to put anything the damn well please on there cars as the v8's. but thats just my thought.
