Default Hood not releasing

Anyone else had the problem of the hood not popping when the cable release is pulled. We have a 1990 and 1991 with this problem. I cleaned the latch up and the cable is releasing the lever. I stretched the big spring on the hood and now it seems to work.

my 84 did that too. i just went to the front and gave it a solid smack right to the left of the center of the hood and it would pop right up for me. pretty cool trick haha.

same problem here.
instead of wd-40 i coated it all with hi-temp grease and she pops everytime.
previous drivers(my kin folk so i cant get too mad) actually twisted the hood a little beating and pulling on it to open it when a fingertip full of grease was all it needed.
