Help! I dropped a nut in my engine!
Going out of town for three weeks for a military school. Once I get back, Ill be putting the finishing touches on her and THEN Ill fire her up. Im being super **** this time with all the wiring and hoses. Im trying to route everything perfectly if it doesnt look nice and clean I find another way. I got her all buttoned up tonight. All I have left is to put the spark plugs in, add oil and coolant and fire her up.
Glad I didnt just throw the old spark plugs in....the vortecs take a different plug. Yet another learning curve.....

I thought this little digital marvel would cost over 1K, but they are going on ebay for less than 400. It sure saved my a$$.

Yeah, It really amazed me because I was being SO careful putting it all back together. I cleaned up the engine bay and got rid of anything unnecessary. The way that nut just aimed for the distributor hole.....somebody was out to get me! Ill tell you this much....its a mistake Ill never make again.
Its still in the mid 20's outside. im waiting for the first weekend when she breaks maybe 40 to get it fired up and break in the cam. Its been my experience that cold cold air and naturally aspirated engines makes for difficult starting. I dont want to tune it in when its sub zero out. I almost started playing with it today but talked myself out of it.
