Alrighty then!
Since things got wet under the hood, I'd suspect an ignition corrosion or shorting problem. Could have crud under the distributor cap, or a plug wire jumping to ground. Would be a good idea to replace the distributor cap, rotor, and plug wires. And although the spark plugs aren't likely to be the cause of your problem, changing them would be a good thing to do if they haven't been replaced in a long (or unknown) time.

Going to revisit this topic. Car is doing similar stuff today. It's storming and pouring rain and this time he had done a lot of hydroplaning. He called me to come follow him the rest of the way home because it acted like it didn't want to run.

When I wrote this back in december, we put it in shop and the problem was loose distributor cap and a bad plug wire. What to look at?

Running like crap in wet weather, and clearing up when it's dry (done that at least twice now), tells me you may have a shorting ignition issue where the moisture in the air is acting as a conductor. Was the distributor cap replaced? It could have some corrosion on the contacts inside, or could be carbon tracked. How about the bad plug wire, was just the one replaced, or did you get a whole new set?

All new plugs and wires. It has power when you first accelerate and then when you get off and let it coast, it sounds weaker. I guess u could say that at idle it's not wanting to run. It's not the "same" symptoms as last time but because it was asked if he ran over puddle back then, I just continued this thread. Last time it had no momentum to climb up an incline of any kind. It doesn't have a problem with that this time.

Oh and it was running normal until almost immediately after doing some hydroplaning.

sounds like it got water inside the distributor. it happens if you are going through some seriously deep water. next time slow down or avoid the puddles. it happens to me a lot with the field beater if i swamp it
