the hatch on my 88 camero is stuck down at the moment and i cannot figure out how to get it open... i just bought the car and am in the process of restoring it so there is no battery in it.... i hooked up a battery charger with a start feature built in to it and when i hit the switch it just buzzes.... is there an alternative way of opening it??

 

Do you have the door key? It should work in the hatch latch under the license plate.

Otherwise, getting to the latch by crawling over the back seat and disassembling the shroud and monkeying with the mechanism. That sounds like a sore neck for sure.
