Default Help!! is the 3rd Generation Interchangeable

Hello,
I bought a 1989 Camaro with an excellent body but the interior really isn't all that great. I have the opportunity to purchase a 1991 Camaro that supposedly had a great interior but the body is to rusty to repair. Before I spend the money on the second Camaro I just want to make sure that most of the interior is interchangeable also if the motor and everything else is interchangeable that would be bonus because the 91 supposedly can be started to hear the motor running whereas we were just told that the 1989 has a good motor but was just purchased because of the great shape the body was in which is very rare in MN. Both cars have been changed over from the TPI to a carburetor. If someone could get back to me right away that would be great since I am going to look at the 91 tonight,.
Thanks,

89 and 91 are both third gens and I don't believe much changed in those few years. The majority if not all the parts will work on the two cars.

Yes to the interior and yes to the engines. One major difference is the gauge cluster from the 91 won't work in the 89, and vise-versa. 90-92's have electronic speedo (89 and older is cable driven), and it has an extra gauge.

Thank you for getting back to me. I did not purchase the 91. It was not in nearly as good of condition as he said it was. Going to look at an 87 today maybe I didn't get the 91 for a reason. wish me luck.

If it helps to know, when I did the restoration of my 89 Camaro I used interior parts from a Firebird so much of the 3rd gen platform is inter-changeable

All the lettering on 90-92 interiors is yellow while its white in the earlier years. plus they added an airbag in 1990 so the steering wheel is different too.
