Default heater motor

i need some help guys! i replaced the motor in my 84 camaro and i only used the wires that i needed. after i plugged everything in and checked to see if everything works, the only thing that doesnt work is the heater. the blower doesnt work. well i noticed i didnt even plus the darn thing in. dont know where the wire went to. so i just hooked a wire from the battery to the blower to see if i had found the power wire for the blower. the blower gets power but it doesnt turn on. any suggestions?

Are you saying that you changed the ENGINE in you car and now the heater blower motor doesn't work? Did it work before you changed the ENGINE?

give the blower motor power and ground to verify that it still works. there should be power to it at all times at key on, if memory serves me correct, and the resistors are in the ground circuit. check the fuse, wiring, and the resistor.

Do I understand correctly that you just replaced the entire engine? (the powerplant) What you did was misplace some wires from your wiring harness or clipped a necessary connection. Think about it...it worked before the engine swap...now it doesnt. Do the logical thing first. Dont get lost in the sauce looking for burnt relays and such until you have ruled out all the painfully obvious stuff. Trust me, I speak from experience. I just redid my entire top end and my car WOULD NOT fire up yesterday. After 10 minutes of head scratching I saw I only had 2 of 3 pigtails hooked into the distributor.....

yes i realize that there should be 2 wires. there should be a power wire and a ground correct? i know i obviously cut something i wasnt supposed to. it also originally had A/C. would that ac unit ground out the entire system?

no, anything from the a/c wouldnt control the blower motor. all of the wires for the a/c clutch and pressure sensors are small gauge (16) and the wires for the blower motor are large gauge (10-12)
