Default hard to do?

I have an 85 iroc and the guy i bought it from had a 3200 rpm stall converter. I was underneath the car today to see how hard it would be to change it to a lower rpm converter. It didnt look too bad because it isnt really blocked by anything. I would have to unbolt the tranny obviously but is there any way i would be able to do this job in my driveway? Any input would be helpful. Thanks.

do you have ramps? if yes, then put the car on the ramps, and BLOCK THE BACK WHEELS! if you dont have ramps then just putting the front on jack stands will be enough, make sure you have enough room to move under the car, i just pull the 700r4 from my pickup in my driveway and it wasnt all that bad, though you may want to put a long 2x4 along the back wheels to keep your sockets from rolling out to the curb [&:]

there is a lot of effort, but it isnt all that hard. i pulled the tranny and transfer case (a one peice unit) out of my tracker to swap the cluch. everything was good until the tranny fell off the jack. took me and my dad 3 hours to get it back into place, but only like 20 minutes to flip it upright

make sure you ratchet strap the tranny to the transmission jack (A FLOOR JACK WILL NOT WORK)
also, wear safety glasses as there will be decades of oil and crud falling on you while you are on your back.

I just took mine out to replace a freeze plug. I did it in a gravel drive way. Use a jack to support the trans. And what ever you do do not take the trans off the jack thinkin you can pick it up while on your back. If you do every muscle in your body will hate you for it.
