got stuck in the snow and neglected to check the temp
#11
Stuck in a snow bank can be harder on the tranny then the motor. With the coolant temp getting high it makes the tranny that much hotter. You should check your fluid and make sure its not burnt. In my tranny class the teacher had a chart for estimated transmission life. It was something like this.
Light duty: 100,000+ Miles
Light towing: 80,000 Miles
Hvy towing: 50,000 miles
Stuck in a snow bank: 30 minutes
When I asked about it he said it was not a joke.

it slips through every gear it lags like 2-3 seconds between gears.
with the radio up i cant even tell when i shift unless im looking at the tach
sometimes overdrive kicks in at 45 mph an kicks me down to 1500 rpms and then its a bit sluggish speed wise until i mat it an get it to kick out of overdrive.
