i managed to get mine out without having to remove the rear. i had the frame on jackstand, the front at the low setting, the rear at the high (about 2 feet). my exhaust was fully welded from y-pipe to tail pipes, and i hadnt learned about using band clamps to reattach a cut off exhaust. is the fuel pump still working at all? if so, try to drain the tank with it. if not, disconnect the evap line and you can pressurize the tank to force fuel out of the fuel line to empty. just be careful and regulate the pressure to 5 psi

ok on a flat ground you need to do this.

jack the car up and use jack stands towards the rear of the car how i did it. remove the straps from the gas tank. then use a big floor jack, jack the rear up a little bit undo the shocks at the bottom on each side and undo the little bracket holding the fuel lines to the sheet metal.then lower dow nthe jack slowly and leave the jack under the rear end. undo the fuel lines kind of tight fit reach up and undo the clamps, also undo the fill cap should n some screws in there as well to the filler tube. i took off botch back tires.also undo the rear brace there are two of them. also remove the exhuast pipe and muffler. then the braces and rear tires. then straps and drop the rear end.

I decided that the '91 was too much of a problem. I went ahead and bought an '85 Z yesterday. Its a complete car, in good shape, just needs a motor. So Im pulling the 305 out of the '91 over the next week and droppin it in the new Camaro.

Default fuel pump 92 Z

I did mine and just could not cut my rust free sheet metal for any reason. I did have to drop the rear, even then it was tricky getting the tank out, finding the correct twist to get the filler neck thru the body work was challenging BUT NOT IMPOSSIBLE and when I finished you could not tell my car had been worked on, plus I installed a new MagnaFlow.
