pull the interior out of your car's and follow the wiring ( i think it's ran down the driver's side not sure or the center console ). it will be a grey wire purple is for the sending unit. just got done wiring and external fuel pump in mine. it's not fun but good luck

There are two paths for power to the fuel pump in your car. One path is through the fuel pump relay, and it's purpose is to get the system pressure up before the engine starts, if the engine does not start within a few seconds the relay connection is dropped. The other path is through contacts in the oil pressure sensor. Once the oil pressure is over 5 PSI the contacts close and power is fed to fuel pump. If you are looking for power to the pump with the engine stopped you won't see it even with the key on, because the relay will drop in a few seconds.

well i tried to get to the pump through the trunk and it was IMPOSSIBLE, i dont see how this can be done
