Default fuel leaking

My evaporative emissions canister is leaking gas from the bottom, i replaced it and the same thing happened, i wanted to return it, but the guy said that there is a problem with the fuel lines, is fuel even supposed to go through there, ( or do the vapors go there). i checked the lines that connect to the fuel sending unit and they are placed right, what do i do??

No fuel is soppossed to run in the canister, just vapors, If you have fuel going in the you probaly have some lines crossed somewhere. Hope you find the problem.

The canister has a purge system that removes the vapors from the charcoal element. If the system is not working, the vapors will condense into liquid. It's not likely your lines are mixed up, I would make sure the purge system is working properly.

how much liquid forms when that happens?? I lost alot of gas when it was leaking, it was spilling out alot, are you sure that could be it?? i'm positive the lines are correct, i doubled checked. if the vapors condense into liquid how much liquid leaks out??

Have You Disconnected The Vacuum Lines Leading To It? That's The Way The Purge System Works. By Drawing Fresh Air Through The Cannister Via The Vacuum Lines. Wildest Thing I've Ever Heard Tho. Have Disconnected Many Of Them And Have Never Seen Them Drip Fuel. Sick

Many years ago some vehicles would do this in the severe winter that some states see. Snow and ice would clog the bottom of the canister and since fresh air couldn't purge the canister, the vapors would condense into liquid fuel. When the car was parked in a warmer garage, the ice and snow would melt and the condensed fuel would puddle on the garage floor. The system was redesigned and I haven't heard of this happening since. However, if the purge system doesn't work, the same thing can happen anytime.
