Default Exhaust Question

I have an '84 Z/28 that I'm putting a mild 350 in. I'm considering some Hedman shorty headers. Should I keep the stock exhaust system that goes headers, y-pipe, and then to the single muffler? Or should I get an exhaust shop to fabricate me some true duals? I think that two mufflers underneath my car would look terrible. Can I just stick with the stock exhaust setup?

Thanks guys...

Forget about a dual exhaust not worth it. When I put my crate 350 in, I went with a complete new exhaust system.
Headers & Y pipe
Hi-Flow Cat (you will need to pass Emission Laws)
3" pipe to muffler
Muffler (of your choice)
Dual 2.5 outlet pipes

I went with a complete SLP stainless steel system so I would not have to worry about rust.

Yea I'm not too worried about the cat because I live in Michigan and we don't have **** for emissions laws. I never have to take this car in to get inspected so I think I'm gonna forget the cat. I think that you're right though, the duals would look dumb. Thanks for the info...

yea its def. not worth it to get a custom exhaust. go with the stock setup, just add some quality aftermarket parts. thatll do.
