Default Exhaust Question 92 RS 3.1L

Anybody have a recommendation on at "not too expensive" cat back exhaust for my car.??.. Does a larger than factory diameter on the cat back do anything for the car since I don't plan to replace the header through cat yet and, afterall, it is a V6.. I would like it to sound good but, since it is my daily driver and a V6 for fuel economy, lower cost is important.. I will probably also put it through a full restoration in about 3 to 4 years so I don't want to get too carried away right now (most of my resto dollars and time are going into my 67 ssrs anyway)...

Thanks....

Keep putting the money into the 67, especially if its a legit SSRS. On that motor, especially for what you want, any brand name system is fine.

you wont notice any gains in power with a cat back, but you may notice a slight gain in mileage. how much are you looking to spend, and what sort of sound are you going for? if you want something smooth sounding, i would go with a muffler like magnaflow or a thrust super turbo. the latter costs less than $30 for the muffler itself, sounds good, and isnt loud. if you want something awful sounding, look into using just a glass pack or a flowmaster
