can i take any 350 and stick it in my 83 z28. Im just starting to learn the differences in gm motors. can i take a vortec 350 from a 90 yukon and place it into this car. if a motor was fuel injected what would i have to do to put a carborator on it ?

Did they make a Vortec in 1990? Should just need to change the intake not sure about the distributor. I would see if it has the provision for a mechanical fuel pump if you need one that is.

No, they didn't. 5.7L Vortec came out in 1996. Since those were FI engines, I wouldn't expect to see any provisions for a mechanical fuel pump. You would need to go with a fuel pressure regulator for the carb setup.

i was wrong its a 2000 yukon the 5.7 is in. I have changed many parts on my cars over the years but an engine and trans chageout is gonna be a new experience for me. so any help i can get i really appreciate.
