Default engine swap?

I havea 1991 Z28 305 tpi, I'm installing a carburated 350 and eliminating the whole computer. Now my trans is a 700r4 that i will have beefed up. Does eliminating the computer have any effect on the trans? and if so is there a way to correct this when the trans is rebuilt? I already know i'll be installing a switches to turn on the fuel pump and electric fans.

the only thing it will effect is the lock-up converter and your speedo won't work. the PCM sends the lock-up signal to the trans. but you can get a kit to make it work through Summit , and the PCm also controls the speedo because it is electronic. but you can get a speedo from a earlier Camaro and change the tailhousing on the trans to a mechanical sytle and add a cable and tada you got a speedo (or just put all aftermarket gauges in it and rock on).

Dakota digital makes(or aleast they used to)a sending unitthat will work with the stock speedo , but the last time i checked it was very high dollar. almost as much as a Autometer Speedo and Tach combined.

you could just swap the tailshaft housing and run a cable to a mechanical speedo, sounds easy enough. 4 bolts and a hole, then swap speedos
