Default Engine shuts off???

Hello,
I have a 1989 IROC Z-28 with a 5.0 Liter TPI V-8 engine. I’m having 2 issues.
1- the engine runs rough when cold and takes 15-20 minutes for it to run smooth.
2- the engine will shut off on its own with no warning. This is a intermittent problem.
Does anyone have have any suggestions on troubleshooting?
Thanks,
Dan

Disconnect battery for min 10 minutes. Ensure intake duct work and filter are clean.
Hook up battery and let PCM, er, ECM relearn.

Check your fuel pressure too, your fuel pump might be pooping out.

Running rough cold can be a tuff one or it can be very basic. I would start with basic tune-up stuff. Plugs, wires Cap rotor, fuel filter, retorque the intake, check and clean EGR valve and IAC motor. Search Youtube for "how to" videos,

When it completely shuts off things are a little more straight forward. When the engine is not running check to see what is missing. Fuel or spark. To check spark just get a cheap inline spark checker, you should get a fuel pressure gage and a fuel injector noid light. .
