Default do i need a new fuel pump

so my camaro will shut of in the middle of the road sometimes but will start right back up after like 10 mins and when i hit the gas pedal the car doesn't accelerate right it will go real slow until i finally get around 40 mph. but when i stop at a stop sign or a red light it just does it again. I think i need a new fuel pump and a new icm am i right

Next time it kills, get out, open the hood, remove the air cleaner lid, and pump the throttle by hand while you look down the throat of the carb. If you get a healthy squirt, then it's not a gas supply/pump problem. If it acts dry, then yes look for a fuel problem. If you got gas, it's probably a spark issue. I've had it before where the coil would overheat, kill the engine, but start up again after a short cooling off rest.
Ehhhhh, is this the 81 in your user name? You're posting in the 3rd gen section.

No its a 92 rs v6 3.1 i had a 81 at the time

i reccomend you do a fuel pressure and volume test.AND if it is the fuel pump,please please DO NOT hack a hole in the back of the car to get to it.take the time to do it right.
