Default difference in alternators?

i know my oem replacement alternator has two wires. im in need of more output, but what im finding it 1 wire hook ups. will they work in place of the oem peice, and what do i do with the second plug like the original had? namely, im looking at this 140 amp one as the replacement 105 doesnt have enough output Powermaster 47294 - Powermaster Race Alternators - Overview - SummitRacing.com
or do i go with this one? http://www.summitracing.com/parts/PWM-47802/

one wire hook up alts are self sufficient... that 2 wire plug is to control volt output by pcm. one wire alts produce constant power and raise in power as rpms increase.

as long as the housing is the same it will be fine.

i had my oem alt converted to one wire cost me $200 but i also had coil winding added to up my amp output to 160-170

I put a one-wire alternator on my car, but it's pretty much bare bones as far as accessories I'm running. If it were me, I would rebuild my existing alternator to upgrade it to a higher output, and retain the more stable multiple wire hookup. Rebuilding these alternators is extremely easy, and I'm sure you have the means to do it: Quick Start Rebuild kits, Iceberg Alternator, CS-130, CS-130D

alright, so i would be looking at getting the second one. mine is just a cheapo napa unit, but is still good and will be shelved for use later. my fans alone draw 50 amps, and when stopped in gear, the volts are around 13.2, and about 12 with the lights and radio on. its normally 14-14.4 when running down the road. and i plan on adding more electrical draw to it down the road

did you get one of the ones i posted a link to?

also, just as an update. i found my charge wire from the alt was a bit too small now that i have a larger electrical load. lets just say im running 2 8 gauge wires, replaced the starter wire teminal, and now carry a fire extinguisher

not sure which youre looking at craby. the first one, the single wire, will work on camaro for 67-86. im not running a single wire, which will be the second, and thats listed as 85-87.
