I had the stock 82 crossfire hood. The louvers had been ripped out which meant all rainwater was directed straight into my carb. (the car had been sitting for a while in a junkyard) I covered up the cutouts and installed these stick on non functional models. I did drill the holes in the front to allow some air to pass thru, and below them Ive cut numerous venting 'circles' with a hole saw, but I dont think it has much function. Id kill for a small scoop, but all my money is going to the engine right now..

I'm not sure what you want, but I'll post pics of mine when its done. I've never liked the look of cowls on 3rd or 4th gens, but there is no way my hood will fit over the new motor, so the body guy is doing a custom job by cutting and adding metal so the hood rises gently and doesn't look like a hack job. That daytona model isn't bad though.

He is cutting the lines that are in the hood just off to the sides of the louvers, then leading in the correct gauge metal. But, whe he lifts that material up 2 3/4" it will leave less metal against the cowl edge of the hood, so that will get unrolled and more metal added to make up the difference from raising it up. It looks a lot cleaner than a cowl, plus I've always like th look of the stock hoods so its a win win. I needed at least 2 1/4" of lift to clear the manifold/carb set up, so we went a little higher just in case I went to a different set up over time.
