changeing header gasket

Default changeing header gasket

i bought some of them copper gaskets. im gona put them on tonight so i need info ASAP. Anything other than the actual gasket necessary? and the obvious bolts... any kind of sealant? the old gasket or something else?

as far as i know, you shouldnt need anything else. i would recomend a thin film of red high temp rtv if you want a very good seal.

thats what i was thinking, put a thin strip on both sides, cant hurt...

if your using copper gaskets, i wouldnt use any sealant, its unnessecary. however, for your own piece of mind if you want to use a sealant, just put tiny dabs along the perimeter of the gasket and smooth it into a very thin film evenly covering the gasket
