Default header gasket and bolt kit

lookin for a header gasket and bolt kit for my 86 305 tpi. theres many different styles out there, and i dont know which to get for mine. im bolting on a set of hedman headers. also, lookin for an o2 sensor bung as well.

any type will really work. just choose the best gasket you can find, the bolts are pretty much all the same

ive been thinking about a copper gasket... any idea on if those work better or worse than the paper ones? mine now SUCK

copper is the way to go for sure, as for the bolts, if you just get regular ones, they tend to back off, and you have to tighten them up every so often, so maybe check around for a set of header bolts with locks so they dont back out.

a dab of clear loc tite should hold all the bolts untill you want to take them off. we use them on aircraft engines for applications that are prone to vibration and heat. which is pretty much everything on the engine, recip or turbine.

i was looking at the copper gaskets, and the losking bolts. do you guys know what size the bolts are? its a perimeter style valve cover, iron head

just go into any auto parts store and ask for a set of header bolts for a 305, they should have them in stock for fairly cheap

what style gaskets should i get, the sb square port style? i have part number from jegs for the one im looking at, 720-7151 its from mr. gasket

it depends on the ports on the heads, not sure how the small block heads go but they may be round or square, run the #'s for your heads.

theres no legible numbers on the head. based on the shape of the manifold on there, im gonna go with square
