Pick one thread and stick with it. Multiple posts of the same subject confuses matters...
How much gas in the tank?
Is the gas gauge accurate?
Can you hear the fuel pump prime when you turn on the key?
Will the engine start if you prime it with a little gas down the throttle body/TBI unit (whichever you have)?

Gas is full I just filled it up on my way home! tried to prime the carb ( Tbi) I believe. Was running perfect then just started sputtering like it was bad gas then died. Could it be that the timing belt/chain broke? It does have well over 100K on it

Oh christ...here we go..... 8*p

Fuel. Air. Spark.....

Is it cranking?
Is it firing?
Is it catching?
Is it catching, running, sputtering, stopping.....

Talk to us man....we are here to help....but you gotta be more descriptive.......

If the timing chain broke, it wouldn't run at all.
Bad gas is a possibility. You got gas on the way home, then it starts acting up? Gotta always suspect there might be a connection.
I know of a couple people who have done this one, so I gotta ask. Is there ANY way you may have pumped diesel fuel into your tank? Some stations around me have one pump that dispenses diesel, right next to the gas nozzle. It can happen, it has happened.
My niece once filled up her car and it quit on her shortly after. The gas she got was looked at, and it had antifreeze in it (green gas ain't normal). The "gas" crapped up her injectors. What's to stop some shady station owners from dumping who knows what into their tanks to stretch the soup? Not much.
Another thing, was the tanker truck filling the in-ground tank while you were filling up? I know some say that the "stirring up of sediment pumps into your tank" may be a myth, but you still gotta give it a thought. You may want to take a look at your fuel filter and see if it got plugged.
Oh yeah, you never answered my other question, can you hear the fuel pump run for a couple of seconds when you turn the key to the run position (not the start position)?

Heh, heh, here's a good one...Years ago, a friend of my dad had an old Ford Maverick that suddenly started burning oil real bad. So he paid to have the engine rebuilt, only to find that the thing still burned oil just as bad as it was. Turns out, the last time he filled up at the gas station, he put in diesel fuel. lol, oh man what a nimrod!

Fuel pump is turning on and fuel is going to carb!!!! Rotor is black on my way to pick up a new cap and rotor!!!!!! When I got gas the car started normally and ran perfect until I pulled into my driveway (lucky)!!!!!! The car then Started sputtering and clunking then died!!!!!! Then tried to start it again and would not turn over at all!!!!! My first thought was deisel fuel but did pull some gas from tank and checked it!!!!!
