Ok you kept them black, I would like th keep the hood unfinished, with body color flames in the sides of the cowl , when I choose a color. Did your harwood hoods have the show finish on the inside?

I didn't know the underside would look like that, it was a +. aluminum, that must have been nice.

I had the unlimited products cowl hood and it was the biggest pile o S H I T !!! I dont give a damn how cheap it is compared to any one else its not worth it. I was going to have to pay truck frieght to get it back to them and restocking so I kept it and showed people the poor quality. (or lack of I should say) I put a harwood on my car and the only complaint was in the cool night air it would change shape and stand up a little in one corner. A lttle work reinforcing the edges would have taken care of that.
I can go into a lot of detail about the U.P hood but just learn from my costly mistake and don't waste your money one thiers.

the only thing about leaving them unfinished is , over time gel coat will start to dicolor in a few places, or at least mine did , that's why i painted it. if it hadn't of started to discolor i would of just painted the side of the cowl and rocked on. i agree on the underside of the hood, i was very impressed with the underside, took very little work to make show ready.

Hey guys, I was checking out the Harwood site, and the hood I was looking at is a lift-off hood. This may sound like a dumb question, but what exactly is a lift off hood?

Lift off hoods are lighter and have no support on the under side or a place to bolt the hinges. You would have to esu hood pins on all 4 corners to hold it. You want the bolt on style....if they have it in lift off then they have it for bolt on. Also if you are getting a harwood it is cheaper to get it at Jeg's.

actually ive worked closely with fiberglass and carbon fiber. the stregth to weight ratio is better for carbon fiber but if all you want is something lighter, i would go with fiberglass. not carbon fiber. if you want somethin thats super strong and light for strength to weight ratio, so if you can find or have made a cabon fiber/kevlar layered hood. kevlar is rather heavy but its really strong. although having it made would be EXTREMELY expensive. lol. just my 2 cents.
