A/C Aluminum line GM Part #14090457 needed
I have an 86 Sport Coupe with a V6. The A/C has stopped working because of leaking valve. I'm told that the part is not available, and I have not found any information about replacement or repair. Has anyone repaired/refurbished these lines and valves? My car has 82K miles and has been in the family from day-1. It has been a weekly cruiser for me, and I'd like to keep the A/C going here in Floridia. It was converted from R-12 many years ago. Any help/solutions will be appreciated. Thanks.
Correct me if I am wrong. Looking at the part number you provided, there isn’t a valve, just a pressure switch.
I'm not sure what the part looks like and the GM drawing is terrible.
That said, there are places that make/fix AC hoses. I've never used one, but maybe you can check with them. Like these guys: https://coldhose.com/pages/ac-hose-repair

I am not too familiar with the 2.8 cars but I am assuming the part number you post has a high side port on it. The schrader valve on the port is leaking out refrigerant. Whoever looked at your AC system said they replaced the schrader valve but says it’s still leaking due to putting on the port.
What I don’t understand is you said it was converted from R12 to 134a. To convert it requires you to screw a r134a port on top of the old R12 port. Why not just replace the 134a port completely with a new one?
Could you take a pict of the valve that’s leaking?
