Question Bad Radiator Hose Cause Overheating?

I can't seem to get a good answer online, so I figure you all might be able to help. I am having some overheating problems in my 91 RS. New sensor and new thermostat havent fixed it.

Saw a kid on youtube mention that for his 92, he just replaced his lower radiator hose and that worked for him. Mine is wrinkly and shriveled up compared to the top one. Could this be the culprit?
I came out the other day to a coolant leak coming from it, so I am going to replace it anyways, but I wanted to see if this was the potential cause of my problems and that this might be the fix.

Replace lower hose as it should look like top hose - plumb
A working radiator cap helps also.

Step one when diagnosing a over heating issue is to get a system that has no leaks. A system that has leaks will not allow pressure to build, the cooling system needs that pressure to work right. Fix the hose. You can see if that fixes it but I would recommend a pressure testing after. If its over heated a few times that could cause other small leaks. You will drive yourself crazy chasing leak. One time I went to a subscribers house who said his over heating could not be fixed. I found 4 difference leaks. His car had been getting hot for a while but he kept driving it. He got lucky he did not blow a head gaskets. Funny part was all we needed was a thermostat housing gasket. Everything else we clean up and resealed with a small amount of copper RTV or grease. Grease on and tightening on the hoses.

Why replace the sensor? Was the fan not coming on? Is it coming on now?
