Default AC Compressor noise

I'm having this noise coming from the AC Compressor it sounds almost as if the pulley is broken or something. it makes a rubbing noise i would say.

The AC works great currently.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

I want AC, so should I replace the whole unit or is there a cheaper fix such as replacing the pulley only or inside components?

Do i have to remove the AC fluid if i decide the change the pulley? I think i can just replace it while its installed, i have plenty of room.

Or can anyone direct me to a forum post that is having a similar issue? Thanks everybody

Some times its the bearings and or the clutches going out.Unless you have done it before I would either replace the pump .And or take it to a shop and have them look at it,Your choice and you will have a warranty .

Most GM models require special tooling to remove clutch and you engine up replacing the front main seal so that means the system needs discharged and recharged. For me it was easier to just replace the whole unit.

Yeah that's waht i've decided to do.
After trying as much as I could to change the pulley, it was just one problem after another. I got to where you pull the pully off the rod, but I could not get it off. So I put everything back togetehr and have now decided to replace the whole thing.
