hey guys, i was just wondering if you had any suggestions. i went to drive my car last night and all it did when i turned the key was click. i drove the car earlier that day and had no problems at all. anyway, when i go to start the car all the lights dim and i hear the starter pinion click but motor does not turn over. how can i check to make sure that the clutch start switch is working properly.

If you hear a click, the starter solenoid is probably getting power, but maybe not enough. Check the battery first. Lots of times the battery will have enough power to power lights but not turn the engine over. Put a voltmeter on the battery and if it is like 11.4 volts or so, it may be a bad battery. The start switch on the clutch pedal is behind the pedal.

Dude, just take it to autozone and they will test the battery, which is most likely your problem. Although, don't count out your starter, it may have a dead spot, which they can check there also. You can hook up a voltmeter and pull the fuel pump relay and let the car crank, if it drops below 11v, it's bad. You don't have to buy an expensive battery, and make sure that nothing caused your battery to go bad in the first place. You can do a parasidic load test on the car and see if any thing is draining the battery while the car is off. If you want to know how to do this, just let me know. You can buy the tool for this at walmart for $4. It's an easy and safe test to do. Good luck...
