I did the same some time ago and ECM will learn .
Better learning after power is killed to ECM, then drive for it to learn.

Keep in mind the stock TBI is less then 500 CFM. So the power of the 350 will fall off near 5000 RPMs because it will starve for air. Might want to think about a Performance chip. The 305 timing curve is genital the 350 does not need genital. Also keep in mind that just because one 350 worked does not all 350's will work with the stock setup. The computer has built in limits for all its adjustment, you can go to the edge of that adjustment but if you cross over that line the ECU will put itself in LHM (Limp Home Mode) because it thinks something is wrong. In this mode your 350 will have less power then your 305 did.

Example. Let say your O2 senor is reporting lean, The ecu will increase the injector pulse width to give you more fuel. The factory programmer has put a limit on the width. If you hit that limits the ECU goes into open loops and runs on tested tunes for the 305 while it will ignore most sensor input. Since you do not have a 305 it will run like crap.

Compression, Cam, intake and even timing can force a ECU into LHM.

FYI even the stock TPI system will starve a 350 at 5000 RPMs.
