Default 85 IROC, SHOULD HAVE MORE POWER?

85 IROC Z28, Block Less than 10K miles, newly rebuilt 350 heads installed
fuel tank new, fuel pump new, fuel filter new.
Timing has been adjusted by local mechanic

Once in a while I have a slight backfire and the car just doesn't seem to have the get up and go I think it should.
Does anyone have any ideas on what I can check next? So I can get this car runnning like it should?
Spent alot of money the last two years getting her looking good and really want it to have some HP.
Hope someone can help me. Thanks

The Engine is TPI, the block has not been bored and the valves are stock.
Never had the injectors cleaned the properly and they are original injectors. Is that something I should look into?
Dont know if a new set of injectors are the answer, Don't mind investing in a new set if that will take care of the problem.
Thanks for the reply
