I have a 85 camaro and it will turn on but it wont turn off unless you disconnect the battery.Does anybody know what would be causing this.Thanks.

 

is the starter not disengaging? im not sure what you mean by "turn off"

 

My cherokee did this a couple of times...dont pull the negative lead yuo'll fry and thing computerized. Its either the computer...pull it out and look at the diodes to see if there burnt...or just replace it all together if whats above doesnt work. It could be some relay too.

 

Is it a MPFI 2.8L V-6? If it is I might have your answer. On mine the previous owner tried to hardwire my electric fan throught the fuse box. That caused my alternater to charge and it was feeding my engine with enough juice to keep it running for about an averge of 20 muinutes it was wierd. But hey check out your alternator conector and make sure you don't have any loose conections. Dose you fan come on ever time you start your car?
