'84 hood shocks

Default '84 hood shocks

i have an '84 Z28 and the hood shocks are bad. i replaced them with used ones that worked on the other car but not on mine. is there any certain kind that i am supposed use?

Well, they aren't shocks, for one, they're pneumatic props, but beyond that, just go get new ones, they're cheap as hell anyway. I think I paid like $35 for both hood and deck for mine, and they're warantied for life.

Any Auto Parts store will have them. For your info I just don't replace them anymore (I was on my 3rd set) because underhood heat just kills them on my car.

That's the whole reason I got the lifetime waranty on mine. It's nice to just walk in to the auto parts store and be all "Replace these, or I'll eat your soul!" and they look at me funny, but then I get new hood props for free. Besides, it's not like they take that long to replace.
