the dome lite between the t tops wont go off, but the 2 under the dash will go on and off with the door and the headlite switch ( I am not talking about the map lite) am I missing a switch? its odd because it didnt work till I smaked it with my hand and it popped on. now it wont go off, and YES I have allready removed the bulb but would like to fix it. all I can think of is that its grounding somewere other then the door switchs or headlite switch. I dont believe its the headlite switch because it operates everything else just fine. ( and yes I know its spelled light)

 

Prolly have a wiring issue. Maybe when you hit the dome light you must have moved a wire and grounded it so when in contact with metal the light comes on. Just try to take the dome light itself out, the assembly, and check the wires.

 

ya thats kinda what I thought, too. will do and thanks. I just didnt want to start tearing into things just to find a switch I didnt know about. lol.

 

an easy fix would be to get a flush mount rocker switch cut a hole at the back of the dome and install the switch so you have 3 lights with switches instead of two

so like if you need light in the back seat and dont want to turn all the lights on you could just flip the switch

 

I have a map lite for that, but it is still a good idea. will have to remember that one.

 

i have 2 map lights in my rear view mirror but they dont shine into the back seats thats why i put a switch into mine with a separate power so it still works with the doors and with the interior lighting switch on the dash
