700r4 worth rebuilding???

I have an 89 rs that I would like to give about 400 hp but I have a busted up 700r4 if rebuilt can the 700r4 take that much power?

yup. just dont skimp on the parts and buy all the el cheapo store brand. use name brand parts, and you will have a trans that will handle that power for at least 50k miles
