they are a good tranny if you keep up on them, like almost anything out there..

the 700r4 is put into a lot of hotrods for a reason..

Its a great transmission.4 speeds and a low first gear. And a TCC so when your in top gear it gives a direct drive so there is zero slippage and improves gas mileage. Its not the trannys fault people abuse and neglect it.

i agree that it is a great tranny-it can also be built to take more trashing than stock.im going to pick-up another 92 firebirdtoday for 100.00-it has the 140 mph speedo-t-tops-nice tires-wheels-and of course the 700r-4

Where do you get these one hundred dollar cars? When I wrecked my 84 Z28 the salvage buy backwas more than that.

mad mike-im picking up an 84 firebird today for 100.00-they are all over this area-it seems--this will make 3 cars i have picked up in 1-week-i know of 2 more camaros- is an 82/83 with the crossfire hood-working vents-another 86 z-28...coos bay,oregon---keep in mind most of these cars have sat are are pretty trashy---there are some that are in good shape if your lucky-my camaro had an excellent interior-looked terrible -i got it free--it took 6 monthsmostly useing this forum ur guys advice-and it turns heads around town-
