Default 400 small block fuel systems

Ok, I recently bought a 400 small block to put in my 92 Camaro. The only problem is that since it is my daily driver I dont want to put a carb on it. I was looking to put a TPI system on it but I keep hearing that its good for low end but once it hits about 45000 RPM it cuts off. Does anybody have any ideas or any experince with this? Right now it has a 305 in it. I was going to put 64cc heads on it off an LT1 or something close.

If its your daily driver, how often will you be getting 4500 rpm and up? Just asking, as you stated that was TPI's limitation. I like fuel injection, but I don't think there is anything "wrong" with a well tuned carb.

Second, if you've gone and put good money into what I'm hoping is a 400 thats in good shape, then don't skimp. Get heads, manifold, etc that is going to work well and give you what you want.

You could always look into a holly stealth ram multi-point system.

Yeah thats a good point. I wouldnt have a problem putting a carb on it except I live in Ohio and have had to mess with a carb in winter for the past couple of years so im kinda carbed out.

The 400 im lookin to buy only has 100,000 miles on it and is supposedly in good condition. Im gonna do a clean up job on it and put good heads, a manifold, headers, etc on it. I really cant afford to skimp on it since its my only car lol

A couple people have suggested the holly stealth ram multi-point system and Ive looked into it, the only problem is my lack of funds lol.

The only thing I was worried about with the TPI system is if it would put out enough fuel so the thing doesnt lean out on me. Im thinkin I would have to get a high flow fuel pump, and bigger injectors but the ECM would need to be retuned if so.

Im jus tryin to get a plan together before I start buyin stuff.
