i have a 92 rs with a 305 tbi and i was thinking about buying my friends 85 custom deluxe with a carbed 350 and swapping the motors my question is he was trying to tell me that in 86 they changed the motor mounts so i would have to change them for the motor to fit. ive never heard of thisbefore and it really doesnt seem right but i figured I should ask. thanks for any input

 

i dont know about that. I do know from personal experience that a motor mount change is pretty slow, if you dont take stuff out of the way first(lower control arms...). if you need help let me know ill walk you through it.

 

any small block engine (especially older carb'd engines) will drop in your 86, since you have a v8 anyways, they will bolt right up, however, just for peace of mind, i would get brand new ones.
