Default 1987 z28 question

I have a 1987 z28 camaro with a small block 400 and turbo 400 tranny. Does any one know where the torque arm mount mounted to? Any info would be great. I dont have the money for an after market one. Alsi does anyone know where to get a torque arm mount. Thanks in advance

The torque arm would have mount to the trans tail shaft.

Inless someone has recently come out with an adapter your TH400 is too short for a mod that will make it work. Sadly I think aftermarket body mount is the only option. You have the custom drive shaft needed for the 400 swap?

BTW my information is dated, I have not messed with 3rd gens in awhile but I do not think most people that need the strength of the th400 want that much torque on a tail shaft housing. It is a very limited design. If the car has any real torque it would just break the aluminum tail shaft housing.

The th400 is already mounted with the drive shaft. I didnt see any place on the tail shaft to bolt it to. I have the broke mount and looks like it got ripped off the body somwhere around the tailshaft. But im not sure. Its a th400 out of an early 70s chevy impala. Im just lost

If no torque arm is connected now, the rearend is doing cartwheels under acceleration, and the driveshaft is going to rip out but fast. 3rd and 4th gen f bodies never came with a TH400, therefore they do not have provisions for mounting the torque arm to the tail like the original trans had. You need to buy an aftermarket torque arm frame mount bracket.

^ That's a perty one, almost makes one want to get run over just to be able to see it up close! lol
Does anybody make a frame bracket only, that you can attach a stock arm to? The guy did hint that his budget is tight.

Looks like both BMR and UMI make one ($260 ish). Seems like it would be easy to fab up with even amateur welding skillz. Course who ever made the first on failed.
