What intake did you put back on the car? The 87 z28 305 intake? If so, it should be a TPI intake. If you put a Thirdgen TBI intake on the car then you need to use a TBI harness and ECM w/correct prom chip.

You will need the following: TBI intake manifold, TBI throttle body ( You can use the 305), 65lb injectors, ECM # 12278046 (you can use one from a 305) , 350 TBI ANLU Prom chip,350 knock sensor, ESC module.

 

sorry to but in here but i was reading this and had my own question about chips. I took an 87 iroc 5speed manual, and swaped the 305 tpi, for a 350tpi out of an 88 z28. From reading this i think i need to change my chip in my ecm from a 305 chip to a 350 chip? and i saw some on ebay, but my question is does it matter if the the car is an automatic or standard when buying a chip?

 

Yes it does matter, there are a ton of differences between an auto and manual chip. For a 350 manual trans car, you would need a custom chip because they never made a 350 with a manual trans

 

what if i just left in the stock chip and got a adjustable fuel regulator, and adjust my timing? or do i deffinatley need to change the chip?

 

No , you will need another chip.
