No reason to take it to a transmission specialist. The root of the problem is the 3" lift. I would be willing to bet some hood owned it before you and had some huge rims put on it requiring the lift. I'm sure it was NOT done correctly (custom spindles, extended sway bar end links, rear control arms, rear adjustable panhard bar, etc.)

They probably stacked some spring isolators on there. That's just asking for trouble. The shocks and struts are too short to work properly with the lift, and are bottoming out. The panhard bar is too short, so the axle is uncentered under the car towards the passenger side. The control arms aren't the right length for the height difference, so this totally jacks up your pinion angle. Probably isn't the best thing for the torque arm either.

Bottom line: I wouldn't drive the car until you get it back to stock ride height. It's just asking for trouble.

that;s for sure!
you;ll never get the stock ride you want if some one has changed the car that much!
sounds like it was display purposes only

Thanks for the responses! Its raining cats and dogs right now so i cant go out to work on it, but I will lower it and get back to you guys to see if the problem is going away, but it sounds like you are pretty sure.

And yea, this guy knew a lot about engines but didnt know anything about suspension. He had it raised on the original struts from 1983!!! The rears were so shot I could pull them apart by hand, and all four were rusted/busted like crap.

:-( Poor poor poor camaro. though I have to admit I am attached to this car, its so simple to work on. Its so much easier than my sisters 2005 Sentra.....

youll love it much more than the sentra. it has parts that can be rebuilt and easily accessed. not replaced and hidden
