Default 1983 Berlinetta V6....cold driving

When I first start the car for the day and the engine is cold with the butterfly closed, I can not drive the car. When I press the gas pedal, it acts as if it is starving for air and just "chugs". But once it gets warm and the butterfly opens, it seems to run and drive just fine.

What should I look for?

Is the check engine light on? or service engine soon? if it is it has a trouble code! in which case if you have a manual for that vehicle, it will show you how to get the codes out and determine the problem, or take it to aparts store and they will do it. But from the sounds of it, i would check the mixture control solenoid, and look for any cracked or missing vacuum lines. keep us posted, and good luck.

There is no "check engine" light on and I have taken the mixture control solenoid out, cleaned it, ohm'd it and replaced the o-ring and mounting gasket on it. I have also replaced all the vacuum hoses. None of that has helped yet.
