is the 3rd gen 10bolt a 7.5"? I have heard of 4th gen guys going 10s on them but everyone realizes you are on borrowed time. i have even seen a guy lift the front wheels on a 10bolt...... again, u just need to remember that youhave the potential to break things. I would say mid12's are fine unless you are talking about doing it with high rpm launches. if you have the power to go 12s on DR's you should be ok, just stay away from slicks

i believe 85 was the first year for the 7.625 rear actually, i cant remember off the top of my head. I've got a 3200 stall, but i only launch at about 1500...and slicks are all i have now, once i burn up my radials i will replace them with some good DRs and run those..

low launches like that wont be an issue. However you could stand to launch a little higher. just preload by hitting brake and reving engine up to just below stall. if you already have pressure on ur rear you are less likely to brake anything

im not much into racing autos so i may be wrong, but it seems to me that with a higher stall like urs, u are actually harder on the rear launching low and allowing the stall to "slap" the rearend when it hits its mark rather than pushing the motor there to begin with and pushing all gears into contact before the launch.
