Default Old Cam New Lifters Is This OK?

Hi everyone, new to the forum.
I have a 78 Camaro 350 with 67k on it. I am in the processe of replacing the lifters. My qustion is can I replace the lifters without replacing the cam? Any help would be great. Thanks

Flat tappet lifters...bad idea.
Roller lifters...OK.
If you're selling the car and aren't worried about having future problems with your cam or lifters, then go ahead.
Why are you replacing the lifters anyway?

If it is a flat tappit hydraulic cam the "book" says yes but my experience says I wouldnt do it again lol. Summit has some fairly inexpensive cam lifter kits. If money isnt a issue I would go with comp though.

If you only had 67 miles on the engine, I still would NEVER mix old and new parts on a cam/lifter install. Really bad idea!
