Default Mystery Block GM 22

As long as I've owned this 1980 Z28 I have yet to figure out what engine I have. Embarrassing on more than one occasion. "C4F436629 V0418T Y" is stamped on the front behind the alternator. Any help identifying would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

V0418T Y is what tells the story.
V=Flint engine plant. 04=April. 18=18th day of the month. TY=1978 305, 145 h.p.
TY code also tells that it came out of a (gasp) Pontiac Grand Prix.
Moved your thread to the 2nd gen engine section.
